That’s right — Up to 300,000 Points!
American Express has made its elevated welcome offers publicly accessible on two of its top business cards. For a while, catching offers like these meant opening tab after tab in incognito browser windows and hoping for the best. That’s no longer the case.
Right now, you can follow our “As High As” links below to see the exact offer you qualify for — no tricks required.
We’re covering two cards: the The Business Platinum Card® from American Express and the American Express® Business Gold Card.
The Business Platinum Card® from American Express — As High As 300,000 Points
This is the headline offer. Here’s the official language:
The previous high on this card was 200,000 points for the same spend requirement — so 300,000 points represents a meaningful jump. Not everyone will see the top-tier offer. It’s the best available and will be in high demand.
One thing worth emphasizing: if you pull the 300,000-point offer and you’re ready to meet the spend, take it immediately. Offers aren’t guaranteed to stick around if you navigate away and come back. We’ve seen people pull a record offer on a personal Amex card, wait to apply, and end up with a lower number the next time they checked.

American Express® Business Gold Card — As High As 200,000 Points
The Business Gold Card has a strong offer running as well:
The Business Gold Card earns 4X Membership Rewards points on your top two eligible spending categories each billing cycle, from this list:
- 4X on U.S. purchases from electronic goods retailers and software & cloud system providers
- 4X on monthly wireless telephone service charges made directly from a U.S. wireless provider
- 4X on transit purchases including trains, taxicabs, rideshare services, ferries, tolls, parking, buses, and subways
- 4X at U.S. media providers for advertising in select media (online, TV, radio)
- 4X at U.S. gas stations
- 4X at U.S. restaurants, including takeout and delivery
The 4X rate applies to up to $150,000 in combined eligible purchases per year. After that, you earn 1X on those categories. All other eligible purchases earn 1X as well.
Same advice applies here: if you see the 200,000-point offer, that’s the ceiling. It won’t go higher, but it can go lower.

Pros
- You can't beat the 4X points on 2 out of the following 6 categories each month: U.S. advertising and media, U.S. gas stations, U.S. electronic goods retailers and software & cloud system providers, U.S. restaurants, U.S. wireless telephone service providers, and U.S. Transit
- Although the annual fee seems high, if you max out the 4X on $150,000 in purchases, that earns you 600,000 Membership Rewards points which Your Best Credit Cards values at around $10,000
- Card membership includes the very well regarded American Express customer service
Cons
- The high annual fee, despite being worth it for high spenders
- If you spend well over $150,000 a year in these categories, you may max it out and remaining spend earns at just 1X.
- Car rental CDW coverage is secondary to your own auto insurance

We have a Guide to American Express Membership Rewards points that goes into all the amazing ways you can spend these points.
Here are a few ways you might spend a chunk of your 300,000 points:
- Emirates First or Business Class (yes, the on board shower…)

- Japan Airlines (JAL) First Class (book using Cathay Pacific, a oneworld partner and Amex transfer partner).

- Fly the famous Qatar “QSuites” Business Class

- 300,000 Amex points would convert to 600,000 Hilton Honors points. Since this card comes with Hilton status, you get the 5th night free on an award. And with the spend to earn the Welcome Bonus you are actually at well over 300,000 points. 640,000 points would get you 5 nights at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island!

I could go on and on and on….
The point is: 300,000 points buys a LOT of luxury travel!! So this deal is worth jumping on if you are eligible. You are eligible if you have a business (even a side business – must have some sort of business income reported on your taxes or have a new business that will) and if you haven’t had the card you are applying for.
(Note that if you last had one and closed it 7+ years ago, you’ll generally be approved.)
