Bilt has taken the points and miles industry by storm. Over the years, Bilt has become synonymous with earning transferable points on rent payments, but it has evolved into so much more.

Whether you take advantage of Bilt Rent Day promotions (including the chance to win free rent), earn points through co-branded credit cards, or use your Bilt Cash to book a fitness class, there are plenty of ways to get value from the program. Note that up to $100 of Bilt Cash earned rolls over to the next year. The best part is that you don’t even need to be a renter to maximize the Bilt Rewards program to its fullest.

Here’s everything you need to know about Bilt Rewards, including how to earn Bilt Points, elite status, and redeem rewards for maximum value.

What Is Bilt Rewards?

Bilt Rewards is a loyalty program similar to American Express Membership Rewards®, Citi ThankYou Points®, or Chase Ultimate Rewards®. However, it’s slightly different from these programs. Bilt is free to join, and anyone can start earning Bilt points without applying for a Bilt credit card. You can link your existing cards to your Bilt account and earn points whenever you shop with one of Bilt’s partners.

However, if you really want to maximize your earning potential, you’ll use a Bilt card to pay your rent or mortgage payments each month. We’ll dive into these options below.

How To Earn Bilt Points

Bilt points are unique because they are so easy to earn.

If you want to earn a chunk of Bilt Rewards points ahead of an upcoming redemption, your best option will be to earn rewards by holding a Bilt credit card. In early 2026, Bilt sunset the old Bilt Mastercard and launched three new credit cards in partnership with Cardless. Each card offers its own benefits, but no matter which one you choose, you can earn up to 1.25X points on rent and mortgage payments with no transaction fee. We will delve deeper into your housing payment options in a bit.

Each Bilt Card also earns 4% Bilt Cash on everyday purchases (excluding rent and mortgage payments) if you select this option when setting up your card. Here’s an overview of some of the best ways to earn Bilt points, including through credit cards and spending with Bilt partners.

Bilt Blue Card

The first Bilt card option is the no-annual-fee Bilt Blue Card (Rates & fees), which earns 1X points on everyday spend. Although it doesn’t come with a ton of extra benefits, you’ll receive perks like no foreign transaction fees, Cellular Wireless Telephone Protection, Purchase Assurance, MasterRental Coverage (See Guide to Benefits).

If you’re looking for an affordable starter card, the Bilt Blue Card is a solid option.

Earn Bilt Points When You Pay Rent

Earning Bilt Points on rent is a bit more confusing than it once was. However, it’s also much more customizable and much more rewarding, too. It’s worth the effort, as rent is likely your largest monthly expense, so you should try to earn points on it.

When you are approved for a new Bilt card, you can select between two options for earning rewards on housing payments: Flexible Bilt Cash or Housing-Only.

If you select the Flexible Bilt Cash option, you can redeem your Bilt Cash (more on this below) to unlock Bilt points on your housing payment. You can redeem $30 in Bilt Cash to earn 1 point per $1 spent for every $1,000 in rent or mortgage payments. If you choose this option, you’ll continue to earn 4% Bilt Cash on everyday purchases as a Bilt cardholder.

If you don’t care about earning Bilt Cash, you can earn points on your rent and mortgage payments based on how much you use your Bilt Card. However, if you choose this option, you won’t earn 4% Bilt Cash on your everyday purchases. Here’s how to unlock up to 1.25X Bilt Points on rent and mortgage payments:

  • Earn 0.5 points per $1 if you spend at least 25% of your monthly rent or mortgage payment on everyday purchases using your card.
  • Earn 0.75 points per $1 if you spend at least 50% of your monthly rent or mortgage payment on everyday purchases using your card.
  • Earn 1 point per $1 if you spend at least 75% of your monthly rent or mortgage payment on everyday purchases using your card.
  • Earn 1.25 points per $1 if you spend at least 100% of your monthly rent or mortgage payment on everyday purchases using your card.

Keep in mind that there are no transaction fees when using your Bilt card to make rent or mortgage payments.

Earn Points and Neighborhood Benefits Through Partners

You can earn up to 3 Bilt Points per $1 spent at Bilt Dining partners, in addition to however much you’d earn with your credit card. That means using your Bilt Obsidian card with dining selected as your 3X bonus category could earn up to 6 points per $1 spent.

Just like other card issuers, you can also earn points by booking travel through Bilt’s travel portal. Regular members earn 1 point per $1 on flights and 2 points per $1 on hotels booked through the portal, but you can also stack these rewards if you hold a Bilt card that earns bonus points on travel.

There are a variety of other Bilt partners to help you earn bonus points, including Lyft (2 points per $1), Walgreens (up to 2 points per $1), fitness classes (up to 3 points per $1), and more.

Bilt Rewards Elite Status Tiers

One of the many things that sets Bilt apart from other transferable point currencies is the fact that Bilt offers elite status tiers to its members.

There are two ways to earn Bilt elite status — through qualifying points and through a fast track.

Here’s how many qualifying points you’ll need to reach status:

  • Silver: 50,000 Bilt Points
  • Gold: 125,000 Bilt Points
  • Platinum: 200,000 Bilt Points

To achieve status through a fast track, you’ll need to meet the following spending requirements:

  • Silver: $10,000
  • Gold: $25,000
  • Platinum: $50,000

Although all points earned qualify for status, only select purchases qualify for the fast track, including non-rent spending on a Bilt Card and spending on Neighborhood Fitness classes booked through Bilt and at Bilt Dining restaurants, Lyft (when Bilt is set as your partner in the Lyft app), Walgreens, and the Bilt travel portal.

Elite status comes with a variety of perks, including the chance to earn interest on points, benefits with Blade, access to a complimentary homeownership concierge, and Rent Day transfer bonuses. Platinum members can also transfer 10,000 points to Air France/KLM Flying Blue to unlock 12 months of Flying Blue Gold status.

How To Redeem Bilt Points

When you’re ready to redeem your Bilt points, you have a variety of options, including transfers to hotel and airline partners, as well as some unique methods like principal-only mortgage payments.

The value of a Bilt Point will depend on how you want to use it. For instance, 1,000 Bilt Points could be worth $5.50 if you redeem your points as a statement credit, $12.50 if you book travel through Bilt Travel, or $20 if you transfer to partners.

Transfer Points to Partner Loyalty Programs

Bilt offers unparalleled access to a variety of transfer partners. At the time of writing, Bilt Rewards transfers to more than 20 different airline and hotel partners. The only partner that transfers at a ratio other than 1:1 is Accor, which transfers at a 3:2 ratio.

Other Ways To Redeem Bilt Points

There are plenty of other ways you can redeem your points. You can redeem your points for a flat rate of 1.25 cents apiece through the Bilt travel portal. What’s especially great about the Bilt travel portal is the opportunity to utilize direct bookings that offer loyalty benefits, even though it’s technically a third-party booking. Just look for “Member Rate” or “Home Away From Home” labels when searching hotels or “Direct Book” when searching flights. (Only select Home Away From Home bookings are eligible and will be clearly marked.

Apart from travel, there are tons of different ways to redeem Bilt points, ranging from rent payments to down payments on a house or even student loans. The redemption rate on a down payment is an excellent 1.5 cents per point, which is the most you can redeem Bilt points for on a regular basis, excluding value from transferring points to partner air and hotel programs. Each option offers a different valuation, so make sure to carefully weigh your options before clicking “redeem.”

How To Maximize Your Bilt Points

Bilt Rewards offers some seriously high-value partners, including airline loyalty programs like Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards and JAL Mileage Bank, along with hotel programs like World of Hyatt. World of Hyatt is still at a 1:1 ratio (following the loss of the 1:1 ratio on many Chase cards).

Atmos Rewards

Almost every transferable point currency offers unique transfer partners, and Bilt is no different. If you want access to Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards, you need to earn Bilt points. And trust me — you want access to Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards.

Alaska Airlines is a member of the Oneworld Alliance, which means it’s a great way to book partner airline awards. You can book short-haul American Airlines flights for as few as 4,500 points in economy or 9,000 points in first class, like this flight from Los Angeles (LAX) to Phoenix (PHX):

LAX to PHX through Atmos Rewards

Or, if you have business class on your mind, you can book Japan Airlines business class nonstop from the West Coast to Tokyo for just 75,000 points:

SAN to NRT through Atmos Rewards

You can also book seats to Europe operated by American Airlines, Iberia, Aer Lingus, or British Airways for as little as 22,500 points in economy or 45,000 points in business:

PHL to DUB through Atmos Rewards
Credit: Alaska Airlines

World of Hyatt

World of Hyatt got an overhaul in 2026, complete with new award charts and property category changes. However, the fact that Hyatt still uses an award chart at all means you can reasonably predict how many points you’ll need to spend on a free night. There are plenty of sweet spots to be found.

Below is the award chart for a standard room at a Hyatt property. As you can see, there are five different price tiers and eight different hotel categories.

Hyatt standard room award chart
Credit: Hyatt

You can use Hyatt’s hotel explore tool to find a hotel based on how many points you have. Even if you filter by Category 1, you’ll find numerous Hyatt Regency properties worldwide that are upper-scale, full-service. These are bookable for as low as 3,000 points per night, which is a phenomenal deal.

Bilt Cash

When Bilt relaunched the Bilt Rewards program in early 2026, it made its easy-to-understand model more difficult to understand. However, once you get the hang of it, you’ll see that there is tons of value to be found in the new model. Bilt introduced Bilt Cash, which can be redeemed dollar-for-dollar toward things like fitness classes, hotel bookings, and even Lyft rides.

All Bilt members will earn $50 in Bilt Cash for every 25,000 Bilt Points earned toward elite status. In other words, you don’t need to be a cardholder to earn Bilt Cash. However, if you are a cardholder and you select the Flexible Bilt Cash option when setting up your card, you’ll earn 4% Bilt Cash on your day-to-day purchases. Even light spenders will notice these earnings add up quickly. Plus, if you are a cardholder, you have some unique options for redeeming your Bilt Cash.

Here’s an overview of the current available Bilt Cash redemption options and their value. Note that more options are regularly introduced, so this isn’t a complete list:

  • $120 per year toward restaurant delivery fulfilled via Grubhub ($10 monthly credit)
  • Up to $60 per year of credits for Bilt 15-minute home delivery ($5 monthly credit)
  • Up to $300 per year of restaurant credits at select Bilt Dining partners ($25 monthly credit)
  • Up to $600 per year toward dining experience bookings ($50 monthly credit)
  • Up to $1,200 hotel credit per year (up to $50/month for Blue & Silver members and up to $100/month for Gold & Platinum members)
  • Unlock higher transfer bonuses during Bilt Rent Day
  • $120 Lyft rideshare credits per year ($10 monthly credit)
  • Unlock Home Away From Home hotel benefits (Blue & Silver members can unlock luxury one booking per month at a Bilt Home Away from Home property.)
  • Up to $480 fitness class credit per year, including SoulCycle, Barry’s, and others ($40 monthly credit)
  • $120 Walgreens credit per year ($10 monthly credit)
  • Up to $600 toward comedy experience bookings per year ($50 monthly credit)
  • Up to $120 Bilt Design Collection credit per year ($10 monthly credit)

Cardholder exlusive:

  • Up to $840 of Priority Pass extra guest credits per year (Only for Bilt Palladium cardholders, up to $70 per month)
  • Point accelerator on everyday spend
    • +1X bonus points on all everyday spend for the next $5,000 following activation. Available exclusively to Bilt Obsidian and Bilt Palladium cardholders. Costs $200 Bilt Cash, up to 5 activations annually.
    • Obsidian earnings when enabled: 4X dining or grocery (up to $25k on grocery), 3X travel, 2X everyday spend
    • Palladium earnings when enabled: 3X everyday spend
  • Unlock points on housing payments, up to 1X
    • Every $30 Bilt Cash redeemed earns 1,000 points, up to 1X of your monthly rent or mortgage payment.

Coming soon:

  • Up to $150 toward a Blacklane ride per year (up to $50/year for Blue & Silver members, up to $100/year for Gold members, or up to $150/year for Platinum members)
  • Up to $700 of BLADE credit per year (Up to $350 per seat; up to 2 seats per year)
  • $60 toward parking per year ($5 monthly credit)

Each month, you can choose how you use your available Bilt Cash credits. Once a monthly credit is used, it resets at the start of the next calendar month, but unused credits don’t roll over. For instance, if you select the option to earn $120 per year toward restaurant delivery fulfilled via Grubhub, you’ll receive a $10 credit each month as a promo code. These credits won’t roll over. However, if you don’t select a monthly credit, your Bilt Cash stays valid through the end of the calendar year. You can automatically roll over up to $100 in unused Bilt Cash to the next year.

Best Ways to Use Bilt Cash

Looking for the best uses of Bilt Cash? Some Bilt Cash redemption options, such as the ability to unlock higher transfer bonuses during Bilt Rent Day, will vary in cost and value from month to month. Meanwhile, most redemption options offer a fixed value — $1 in Bilt Cash equals $1 in statement credit, with no way to maximize your return. Even better: a handful offer outsized value.

For instance, here’s how we rank the value of Bilt Cash redemption methods:

  1. Rent option (most valuable)
  2. Point accelerator
  3. Dollar-for-dollar statement credits

Here’s how the math shakes out.

When you use $200 Bilt Cash for the points accelerator option, you can essentially “hack” your way into bonus earnings. You’ll earn an extra point on all everyday spending for the next $5,000 spent after activation. You’ll continue to earn 4% Bilt Cash on that $5,000 in spending. What’s 4% of $5,000? $200. Assuming you maximize your spending, you’ll recoup the Bilt Cash you spent on the points accelerator option and earn 5,000 bonus Bilt Points. This makes a compelling case for Bilt Obsidian or Bilt Palladium cardholders who are working toward a high-value redemption.

However, it’s hard to beat the opportunity to earn points on rent payments. Redeeming your Bilt Cash for rent lets you earn 1,000 points on your rent payment for every $30 in Bilt Cash, up to 1X. In other words, if you redeemed $200 in Bilt Cash toward rent, you’d earn 6,667 points, which is roughly 33% more than the points accelerator option. This is without a doubt more valuable in terms of point-earning potential, but note that you won’t earn any Bilt Cash on your rent payment. Only you can decide if you’d rather maximize your Bilt Point or Bilt Cash earnings.

Bottom Line

The Bilt Rewards program is one of the most valuable rewards programs out there. With so many ways to earn and redeem points, this is a program that you don’t want to miss out on. Consider applying for a Bilt Card, or at the very least, registering for a free account, so you can start enjoying the benefits today.
