Chase did this two tiered transfer bonus earlier this year as well (February), with 40% for two weeks, then 30%. They also had a flat 25% offer in the middle of this year. See all past transfer bonuses to Virgin Atlantic.
Redeem for flights starting at 6,000 points. We like using points for domestic Delta flights (when there is availability!) as well as for SkyTeam flights and, of course, ANA First and Business Class flights. Virgin’s own flight rewards are dynamically priced but with high surcharges. I’d been seeing a lot of Upper Class seats from 29,000 points but I’m not seeing much now so do some homework on what you are hoping to book before transferring.
ANA First and Business class awards:
(Note that you can book one way for half the price of the points price listed.)

The Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Preferred, Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business, and Ink Preferred all have the ability to transfer to airline and hotel partners. We use an average value that you can expect to get by utilizing your points for these transfer partners. In the Chase Travel℠ portal, Points Boost allows you to redeem for airfare or hotels with point values ranging from 1.5 - 2 cents depending on cabin class or hotel. Specific flights and hotels that appear in Point Boost vary. If you do not have at least one of these cards, Ultimate Rewards are worth exactly 1 cent per point. I do not think many of you should be taking advantage of this offer.
Avianca is a Star Alliance partner that does not pass along fuel surcharges, however:
Keep in mind that Avianca recently devalued their program. Also see: Downsides of the LifeMiles program.
With frequent website issues, terrible customer support, and change/cancel fees of up to $200 a ticket, it’s just not for me. Aeroplan also does not pass along surcharges (nor does United) and both are much easier to deal with.
At a mere 15%, I cannot see a case for the transfer unless you were literally about to make a Lifemiles booking anyway. This is the 3rd transfer bonus from Amex alone to Avianca Lifemiles.
Get 30% more Marriott Bonvoy points when you transfer Membership Rewards® points through 11/30/2025.
You’ll have 2 months to take advantage of this transfer bonus, but should you?
First of all, we have historically seen significantly higher offers across Amex and Chase.
Here is a link to historical transfer bonuses to Marriott Bonvoy, with 50%-70% in the list.
That said, this is still almost never a good transfer unless you are topping off for an award you are ready to book. Keep in mind that we value an Amex point at roughly 3X the value of a Marriott Bonvoy point.
However, there are always exceptions and you might find a 5 night stay (5th night free) where the transfer makes sense so do the math – but you likely do not want to transfer speculatively unless you are a Bonvoy pro and believe you will exceed value you can get via other transfer partners. Also keep in mind this transfer can take up to 48 hours.

Instant Transfers as well as solid transfer partners. The value would go up if they had any hotel partners with a fair exchange rate. ANA (an exception to instant transfers), Virgin, Air Canada and Avianca are top airline partners for maximizing your points. They can also transfer to Delta if you wish and while the rates aren't ideal, they can transfer to Marriott and Hilton as well. ANA provides almost unbeatable value for booking a Round the World flight all in Business Class. The stated value also assumes you will take advantage of transfer partners rather than book via their booking portal, where they are only worth between 1 and 1.5 cents. We've also created a Guide to American Express Membership Rewards.

Earn 150,000 Miles once you spend $30,000 in the first 3 months from account opening
20% bonus miles when you transfer Capital One Miles to British Airways Avios. Ends 11:59PM Eastern Time on 11/21/2025
We generally see transfer bonuses from most major transferable points currencies at least once a year. Chase has had two this year, Amex has had one, and this is the first one from Capital One this year. You can see all historical transfer bonuses to British Airways Avios here. It’s often 30% vs. this 20% bonus.
British Airways Avios used to be best for shorthaul flights on Oneworld carriers but recent changes have killed that. Where a flight from New York to Toronto (under 650 miles) used to be as little as 4,500 miles in years past, it’s now 12,000 miles.
However, you can still transfer these miles over to Qatar Airways Avios where that same flight would be 6,000 miles. And that’s the thing – you can transfer these Avios to any other Avios program airline.
Also – outside of the US, BA still prices flights under 650 miles (i.e. SYD-MEL on Qantas) at 6,000 miles in Economy and only 12,500 miles in Business.
BA does have a very favorable lap infant policy – 10% of the miles paid for the adult fare. But beware of their draconian surcharges on long haul awards.
Advanced Mode: Transfer to Finnair’s Avios program which has sweet spots like 62,500 Avios and less than $200 from the US to Finland on Finnair and, (available only by phone or chat) amazing deals on AA transcons. If you can find JFK-LAX/SFO with an available Saver seat in 3-Cabin First (Z class), it’s yours for just 40,000 Finnair Avios. Traveling within the EU in business class (yes, the standard economy seat with the middle blocked, but premium services) is also a steal on Finnair.

It's worth noting that some Capital One cards earn 2 miles per dollar on everything, making the 1.6 cent per mile value an understatement as you'd be earning a 3.2% yield on every day spend. However, this assumes you will learn how to utilize the Capital One airline and hotel transfer partners, most of which transfer 1:1. The minimum value is 1 cent when used to book travel in their portal or to cover previously paid for travel, however, our calculator assumes you will use Capital One's air and hotel transfer partners when calculating a 1.6 cent per point value. We also have a Guide to Capital One Miles.

Hyatt award rates range from 3,500 to 45,000 points per night at their regular hotels and resorts. At all-inclusive resorts and Miraval, the prices can reach as high as 58,000 points per night, Almost without fail, during even remotely peak times, we can find roughly 2 cents per point in value. You can even book Suites for incrementally more points (Premium Suite costs twice as much as a room, for example). I tend to find these are one of the best ways to spend Chase Ultimate Rewards points which transfer 1:1. They are the only major hotel program in the US with fixed award charts making it a great program to be able to set goals for your redemptions..
