With a sizable annual fee, this card is only likely to make sense for someone that currently pays for the United Club with an annual membership. If that's you., you'll certainly do better carrying this card, with its included United Club membership. You could then also earn 4X on your United flights and get a pretty good return on your United spend.

United Miles vs. Chase Ultimate Rewards points

However, if you don't utilize the United Club, you would be better off carrying a Chase Sapphire Reserve (which 3X on travel and dining; $550 annual fee includes $300 travel credit) or a Chase Sapphire Preferred (2X on travel and dining with just a $95 annual fee). Those points can be transferred 1:1 to United miles as well as almost a dozen other transfer partners, giving you maximum flexibility.

This card product is available to you if you do not have any United Club card and have not received a new Cardmember bonus for any United Club card in the past 24 months.

NOTE: In calculating your rewards for this card, we are making the assumption that all airfare entered is spent on United, which earns 4X. If part of that spend is on other airlines, that spend will earn only 1x on this card, reducing the value of your rewards.
