Best Balance Transfer Credit Cards
The Best Balance Transfer Credit Card Offers
In general, if you are looking for a credit card to do a 0% Balance Transfer, rewards earning credit cards are not going to be your best choice as they have the highest rates once you complete the intro offer period. That said, there are many credit cards offering 0% APR on balance transfers and we’ve listed some below.
What is a Balance Transfer Credit Card?
The credit card itself isn’t a “balance transfer credit card.” This is an introductory offer that credit card issuers make to incentivize you to move your debt from your existing credit card to their credit card.
Pay special attention on each card to both the length of the 0% APR period on the balance transfer as well as the cost to do the balance transfer (generally 3% to 5% of the transferred balance). It will also only apply to balance transfers initiated within a certain defined timeframe that starts when you are approved for the card.
Which are the Best Balance Transfer Credit Cards?
We show a variety of options below, as you may have a preference for a particular bank, length of balance transfer offer (15-18 months are common, one has a 21 month balance transfer period) or other card benefits. These are all described when you click through to the card using the “How to Apply” button.
This is also different from a 0% Intro APR Credit Card which offers you an intro 0% period with no interest charges on new purchases.
We base our ratings below on the value of the points of each card multiplied by the amount of the bonus. Pretty simple!
