Chase announced a new benefit for Chase Sapphire Reserve® and Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ cardholders effective today, but be aware that it is tied to spend.

First, you’ll need to spend the following, based on card:
Chase Sapphire Reserve®: $75,000 in annual spend
Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business℠: $120,000 in annual spend

Cardmembers who qualify can activate the Explorist status by linking their World of Hyatt membership in their benefits portal. Once activated, Explorist status is available for the remainder of the calendar year in which a cardmember qualifies through the following year.

Obviously, everyone will wish that you could get Globalist from spend on these cards (me too!) but I can also appreciate World of Hyatt being protective of that very top tier. A while back we covered at MilesTalk a new arrangement between the Venetian Rewards program in Las Vegas and World of Hyatt for casino members to receive World of Hyatt based on tier, and their highest published tier received Explorist with Hyatt as well. Only their “invite only” level gamblers were given Globalist.

So, what do you think? Let’s discuss in the MilesTalk / Your Best Credit Cards Facebook Group!
