Chase Ink Business Cash® and Ink Business Unlimited®: $1,000 Bonus Offers Now Live
Chase has increased the welcome offers on both no annual fee Ink Business cards to $1,000, up from the 90,000-point bonuses that had previously been the highest available on these cards.
The offer: Spend $8,000 on purchases within the first four months of account opening to earn 100,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points, redeemable for $1,000 in cash back, or transferable at full value to a linked premium card.
This applies to both the Chase Ink Business Cash® and the Chase Ink Business Unlimited®.
How the Points Work
On their own, the 100,000 points are worth $1,000 as cash back or statement credit, a strong return for a card with no annual fee.
Their value increases further if you hold one of the following cards, since Ultimate Rewards points can be combined across accounts and transferred to airline and hotel partners:
- Chase Sapphire Preferred®
- Chase Sapphire Reserve®
- Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business℠
- Chase Ink Business Preferred®
Without one of those cards in your wallet, the points remain capped at a $1,000 cash value.
A Caveat on Transfer Value
One factor worth weighing before applying: Hyatt, historically the strongest transfer partner for Ultimate Rewards points on a cents-per-point basis, has shifted to a 4:3 transfer ratio for most cardholders. The 1:1 ratio is now reserved for holders of the $795 annual fee Sapphire Reserve cards.
For cardholders who primarily redeem through Hyatt transfers, this change reduces the effective value of the points compared to before. For everyone else, particularly those redeeming for cash back or through other transfer partners, the $1,000 floor remains unaffected.
The One Per Lifetime Rule
Chase’s published policy limits applicants to one no annual fee Ink card per lifetime, covering both the Ink Business Cash and Ink Business Unlimited.
If you’ve previously held one of these cards, or currently hold one but not the other, you may still want to apply. Chase’s pre-qualification check will typically flag lifetime-rule ineligibility without a hard credit pull. If a hard pull does occur, approval is still possible, since Chase can decline applicants for reasons unrelated to the lifetime rule as well.
Comparing the Two Cards
| Feature | Ink Business Cash | Ink Business Unlimited |
|---|---|---|
| Bonus categories | 5X on office supply stores, internet, cable, phone (up to $25,000/year); 5X on Lyft; 2X on gas stations and restaurants (up to $25,000/year) | Flat 1.5X on all purchases |
| Best for | Businesses with concentrated spend in the bonus categories above | Businesses with spend spread across categories without dedicated bonus cards |
| Annual fee | $0 | $0 |
For most small business owners, the Chase Ink Business Cash® will deliver more value if your spend aligns with its bonus categories. The Chase Ink Business Unlimited® works well as a complementary card for spend that falls outside another card’s bonus categories.
