Virgin Red links directly to Virgin Atlantic so this is basically the same thing. From within the Virgin Red side, you can redeem for things like Virgin Voyages, Virgin Hotels, luxury safaris, and even Richard Branson’s private “Necker Island.” It’s one extra click to move them into your Virgin Atlantic Flying Blue account.
You can view past transfer bonuses to Virgin Red and past transfer bonuses to Virgin Atlantic which range as high as 40% (excluding Bilt’s one day transfer bonuses).
You can also, of course, move the points to your Virgin Atlantic account where you can redeem for flights starting at 6,000 points. We like using points for domestic Delta flights (when there is availability!) as well as for SkyTeam flights and, of course, ANA First and Business Class flights. Virgin’s own flight rewards are dynamically priced but with high surcharges. I’d been seeing a lot of Upper Class seats from 29,000 points but I’m not seeing much now so do some homework on what you are hoping to book before transferring.
ANA First and Business class awards:
(Note that you can book one way for half the price of the points price listed.)
Bilt is offering a targeted transfer bonus to Virgin Red for Rent Day on September 1st. This will be available Monday, September 1 only, 12:00 AM ET – 11:59 PM PT. The bonus will be up to 100%, but you’ll need to check your account as it’s not specifically based on your Bilt Rewards status tier.
(Do not transfer before or after this time window.)
Virgin Red links directly to Virgin Atlantic so this is basically the same thing. From within the Virgin Red side, you can redeem for things like Virgin Voyages, Virgin Hotels, luxury safaris, and even Richard Branson’s private “Necker Island.” A seven day stay at Necker Island is 2,000,000 points right now, so perhaps someone with 1 million Bilt points and a 100% transfer bonus offer can get a deal 😉

Virgin Red converts 1:1 to Virgin Atlantic.
As always, your best uses are to fly Delta One to Europe (excluding England) for 50,000 miles – IF you can find available award space and to book ANA First and Business class awards.
Business Class on ANA to Japan would be 35,000 – 37,000 points while First Class would be 56,000 – 66,000 points (depending on if you are on the West Coast (cheaper) or East Coast.
One more great use is domestically on Delta within the US or US-Mexico/Canada from 7,500 Virgin points.
Virgin Red converts 1:1 to Virgin Atlantic. Best used to book ANA First Class for 42,500 – 47,500 Amex points (30% bonus). For First Class, round trip, you’ll pay 85,000 Amex points from the West Coast or 93,000 Amex points from the East Coast. The transfer bonus will give you the 110,000 (West Coast) – 120,000 (East Coast) Virgin miles required for the trip. One way flights are now allowed, thus my 42.5k – 47.5k range each way.
Also great for US-Europe redemptions on Delta which price at 50,000 miles if you can find space.
