20% bonus miles when you transfer Capital One Miles to British Airways Avios. Ends 11:59PM Eastern Time on 11/21/2025
We generally see transfer bonuses from most major transferable points currencies at least once a year. Chase has had two this year, Amex has had one, and this is the first one from Capital One this year. You can see all historical transfer bonuses to British Airways Avios here. It’s often 30% vs. this 20% bonus.
British Airways Avios used to be best for shorthaul flights on Oneworld carriers but recent changes have killed that. Where a flight from New York to Toronto (under 650 miles) used to be as little as 4,500 miles in years past, it’s now 12,000 miles.
However, you can still transfer these miles over to Qatar Airways Avios where that same flight would be 6,000 miles. And that’s the thing – you can transfer these Avios to any other Avios program airline.
Also – outside of the US, BA still prices flights under 650 miles (i.e. SYD-MEL on Qantas) at 6,000 miles in Economy and only 12,500 miles in Business.
BA does have a very favorable lap infant policy – 10% of the miles paid for the adult fare. But beware of their draconian surcharges on long haul awards.
Advanced Mode: Transfer to Finnair’s Avios program which has sweet spots like 62,500 Avios and less than $200 from the US to Finland on Finnair and, (available only by phone or chat) amazing deals on AA transcons. If you can find JFK-LAX/SFO with an available Saver seat in 3-Cabin First (Z class), it’s yours for just 40,000 Finnair Avios. Traveling within the EU in business class (yes, the standard economy seat with the middle blocked, but premium services) is also a steal on Finnair.
Get 30% Bonus Avios when you transfer points between 12:00 AM ET on October 1, 2025 and 11:59 PM ET on October 31, 2025
Personally, I value a Chase point at well more than even 1.3 British Airways Avios, but if you have plenty of Chase points and a planned redemption it’s something to consider. Also consider, however, that Chase tends to offer these transfer bonuses 1-2X a year. See historical transfer bonuses to British Airways Avios.

We last saw a transfer bonus from American Express Membership Rewards to Avios in September 2024.

Bilt’s Rent Day for April 1, 2025 includes a Avios transfer bonus between 50% and 100% based on tier.
Here are the details by Bilt status level:
Blue: 50% transfer bonus
Silver: 60% transfer bonus
Gold: 75% transfer bonus
Platinum: 100% transfer bonus
The transfer bonus also applies to transfers directly to Iberia Avios and Aer Lingus Avios. For this one day transfer bonus, I’m consolidating all of my thoughts under this one article – mainly because you can transfer points between any Avios program, including British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Qatar Airways, and Finnair.
Sweet spots vary by program.
Personally, I value a Chase point at well more than even 1.2 British Airways Avios, but if you have plenty of Chase points and a planned redemption it’s something to consider. Also consider, however, that Chase offered a 30% bonus in October of 2024 and Capital One offered a 20% bonus in November of 2024.
Beyond that, my usual thoughts apply:
Despite past shortfall domestic sweet spots evaporating, you can still transfer these miles over to Qatar Airways Avios where that same flight would be 9,500 miles (up from 6,000 but still cheaper than BA). And that’s the thing – you can transfer these Avios to any other Avios program airline including Finnair.

There are so many transfer bonuses to Avios, many 30% – 40%, that I don’t think you need to speculatively transfer on this one unless Capital One Miles are your only transferable point and you regularly use Avios anyway (meaning you know how you’ll use them in advance).
Otherwise, my usual thoughts apply:

Bilt’s Rent Day offer this much is a 50% or 100% Transfer Bonus to BA Avios.
We don’t know why some accounts get one or the other. It’s easy to pass on 50% since a 30-40% transfer bonus is common with other programs.
If you have 100% and you are an experienced Avios user – meaning you don’t need to know how to use them and you already frequently do, then you’ll probably want to move some over. How much depends on how often you use Avios vs other airline currencies, your Bilt balance, and your other point balances.
