Bilt Rewards members can get a transfer bonus based on their elite status when they transfer points to avianca Lifemiles on August 1.

Bonus is tiered as follows:

Blue: 20% bonus
Silver: 40% bonus
Gold: 60% bonus
Platinum: 100% bonus

I think at the Platinum level, this is something to definitely consider, but at lower tiers I pause and think…. “Only transfer if you are very familiar with Lifemiles and the ins and outs of the program.”

It’s a bit of an advanced level program in that things often go wrong both during booking and if you need to make changes – plus fees to cancel an international premium award are $200 per ticket.

Keep in mind that Avianca recently devalued their program.
