Early birds get more points! Get 100% Bonus IHG One Rewards points when you transfer Ultimate Rewards points between 12:00 AM ET on July 15, 2026 and 11:59 PM ET on July 30, 2026.
When the Early Bird offer ends, get 70% Bonus IHG One Rewards points when you transfer Ultimate Rewards points between 12:00 AM ET on July 31, 2026 and 11:59 PM ET on August 31, 2026. Bonus points will be awarded by IHG in your IHG One Rewards account after your transfer is complete.
There have been six transfer bonuses from Chase to IHG One Rewards in 2025 early 2026. One was 100%, two were 80%, and three were 70%.
We value IHG Rewards points at 0.4 cents and Chase Ultimate Rewards at 1.75 cents, so this is far from a slam dunk and we’d advise to only transfer if you’ve already found a great redemption. Even at 100%, you are only getting, on average, 0.8 cents for each Ultimate Rewards point!
You may be looking to “top up” an existing IHG Rewards balance for a reward stay and this would be an opportune time.
But as a general rule, we find that one Chase Ultimate Rewards point is at least 4 times more valuable than IHG Rewards points, so, again, do your homework before transferring and make sure you have a deal lined up – ideally using the 4th night free benefit from a co-branded credit card.
Transfers take less than a day (most likely less than a few hours, but not instant), although note that IHG is adding the bonus on their side so there could be a delay.

The Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Preferred, Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business, and Ink Preferred all have the ability to transfer to airline and hotel partners. We use an average value that you can expect to get by utilizing your points for these transfer partners. In the Chase Travel℠ portal, Points Boost allows you to redeem for airfare or hotels with point values ranging from 1.5 - 2 cents depending on cabin class or hotel. Specific flights and hotels that appear in Point Boost vary. If you do not have at least one of these cards, Ultimate Rewards are worth exactly 1 cent per point. Transfer ThankYou Points to Flying Blue Miles and receive a 20% bonus. Offer is valid for points transfers to Flying Blue Miles completed between 12:01 AM ET July 19, 2026, and 11:59 PM ET August 22, 2026.
These oddly timed transfer bonuses are the best reason to subscribe to our transfer bonus alerts, as who is going to remember that a bonus ends on the 22nd of a month? Yet we’ll send you automated reminders at 7 and 2 days to expiration based on your preferences.
As for the bonus itself, we just saw a 25% transfer bonus to Flying Blue from Amex last month and transfer bonuses are not infrequent. The biggest reason to consider to not transfer, though, might be the rumor about Japan Airlines becoming a Citi transfer partner. It’s completely a rumor for now, but if you log into your ThankYou account and go to your profile, the option to link your JAL Mileage Bank account is there, and why would it be there if it wasn’t a partnership in progress?

JAL is a fantastic program and would be huge win for Citi to add to ThankYou, although since becoming transfer partners with Bilt, Rove, and Capital One (they used to not partner with anyone by Marriott Bonvoy for transfers), we have seen availability dry up just a bit. I’m sure JAL will struggle a bit to toe the line between selling their miles and preserving award space availability. (It’s a difficult balance!) Still, if JAL does become a transfer partner, you may be inclined to save your ThankYou points vs. speculatively transfer for 20% bonus miles.
As for this bonus itself?
Flying Blue has some really good award rates at times, though they often fluctuate into the absurd. 60,000 points for Business class to/from Europe from the US is solid, but the surcharges have gotten way out of control (about $600 one way). Sometimes, the pricing is waaaaay over 60,000 points with the same surcharges, so we’d like to see them get this under control and it does make a speculative transfer harder to justify unless you have consistent personal success. With Tiffany Funk (former One Mile at a Time / Point.me) running the Flying Blue loyalty program since June, things are likely to improve. Those things definitely take some time to come to fruition.
Also, while Flying Blue miles expire, it’s a reasonable 24 months and any activity (such as a simple 1,000 point transfer in) will extend it. They used to have archaic rules where flight activity miles weren’t extended with other activity but they came to their senses a few months ago and it’s now simplified with all miles in one pool and all extended by any activity.

ThankYou points have recently gained quite a bit of value with the ability to transfer to American Airlines' AAdvantage. Points can be combined among ThankYou earning cards. The value also assumes you will take advantage of transfer partners rather than book via the portal. You get a full 1:1 transfer ratio to most transfer partners when you have a Citi Strata Elite℠, Citi Prestige, or Citi Strata℠ Premier Credit Card. No fee Citi ThankYou cards transfer at a lower ratio - unless you have one of the aforementioned card as well in which case all points are pooled with the best features of all cards (i.e. 1:1 transfer ratios).

Earn unlimited 3 miles for every $1 spent on eligible Alaska Airlines purchases; otherwise earn 1X
Alaska miles have a few things going for them that make them worth a bit more than the average mile, especially to Asia, Fiji, and the South Pacific where they still have separate charts with great rates on First and Business Class. However, since joining Oneworld, they are increasingly making awards more expensive as they integrate new programs. They also partner with luxury Taiwan based Starlux. Additionally, only Marriott points transfer to Alaska making them harder to acquire than most.
