For a limited time, earn up to 350,000 bonus miles: 150,000 miles once you spend $30,000 in the first 3 months, and an additional 200,000 miles once you spend $200,000 in the first 6 months
Ending on May 31, 2025 at 11L59pm ET, this is a pretty rare 20% transfer bonus opportunity if you are savvy with Qantas’ program (which probably isn’t a ton of you!). We only see two historical transfer bonuses to Qantas dating back to 2022 when we started recording them, one from Capital One and one from Amex. Both were also 20%.
The first thing you’ll want to see is the Qantas award chart as prices rose, significantly in some cases, in August of 2024. There are actually multiple charts: One for Qantas, Jetstar, Fiji Airways, Air Vanuatu, and American Airlines and another for Air France, Alaska Airlines, Bangkok Airways, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, China Airlines, China Eastern, EL AL, Emirates, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, KLM, LATAM Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Oman Air, Qatar Airways, Royal Air Maroc, Royal Jordanian, SriLankan Airlines and WestJet.
And then there’s yet another for mixed oneworld awards.
The Qantas frequent flyer program tends to have very expensive rates, however, there are often times that they make First and Business Class seats from the US to Australia available with Qantas Frequent Flyer and not with partners. You may also find expanded availability with other partners – you’ll have to search but happily their search interface is pretty easy to use and provides calendar views.
You can also book Emirates First and Business class flights with Qantas. Compare against the Emirates Skywards program before transferring.
Don’t forget to check surcharges!

- With a $300 annual travel credit and 10,000 miles (worth $100) each year at renewal, the credits you receive are actually worth more than the annual fee.
- Free authorized user cards where the authorized user gets full airport lounge access of their own is unheard of.
- No Preset Spending Limit; Earns Capital One Miles
Pros
- The annual fee is more than covered by annual credits
- Comes with access to Capital One lounges and Priority Pass lounge with generous guest policies
- Free authorized users also get the same airport lounge access benefits and Hertz status as the primary card holder
- No Preset Spending Limit
Cons
- The annual fee, while effectively negative $5 after credits, can feel like a lot.
- Aside from bonus points for booking through Capital One travel, there are no bonus categories. Still, all eligible purchases do earn 2X miles per dollar spent which is great.
- Points don't transfer to any domestic airlines, although you can use other partners to book domestic award tickets on domestic airlines.
It's worth noting that some Capital One cards earn 2 miles per dollar on everything, making the 1.6 cent per mile value an understatement as you'd be earning a 3.2% yield on every day spend. However, this assumes you will learn how to utilize the Capital One airline and hotel transfer partners, most of which transfer 1:1. The minimum value is 1 cent when used to book travel in their portal or to cover previously paid for travel, however, our calculator assumes you will use Capital One's air and hotel transfer partners when calculating a 1.6 cent per point value. We also have a Guide to Capital One Miles.

Cons
- High annual fee of $695

- Airline fee credit does not cover airfare, only incidentals like checked baggage fees or other incidentals.
Instant Transfers as well as solid transfer partners. The value would go up if they had any hotel partners with a fair exchange rate. ANA (an exception to instant transfers), Virgin, Air Canada and Avianca are top airline partners for maximizing your points. They can also transfer to Delta if you wish and while the rates aren't ideal, they can transfer to Marriott and Hilton as well. ANA provides almost unbeatable value for booking a Round the World flight all in Business Class. The stated value also assumes you will take advantage of transfer partners rather than book via their booking portal, where they are only worth between 1 and 1.5 cents. We've also created a Guide to American Express Membership Rewards.

- Card membership includes the very well regarded American Express customer service
Pros
- You can't beat the 4X points on 2 out of the following 6 categories each month: U.S. advertising and media, U.S. gas stations, U.S. electronic goods retailers and software & cloud system providers, U.S. restaurants, U.S. wireless telephone service providers, and U.S. Transit
- Although the annual fee seems high, if you max out the 4X on $150,000 in purchases, that earns you 600,000 Membership Rewards points which Your Best Credit Cards values at around $10,000
- Card membership includes the very well regarded American Express customer service
Cons
- The high annual fee, despite being worth it for high spenders
- If you spend well over $150,000 a year in these categories, you may max it out and remaining spend earns at just 1X.
- Car rental CDW coverage is secondary to your own auto insurance

Get 25% bonus Virgin Points when you transfer Ultimate Rewards points between 12:00 AM ET on May 1, 2025 and 11:59 PM ET on June 15, 2025. Bonus points will be awarded by Virgin Atlantic Flying Club in your Flying Club account after your transfer is complete.
The first thing I’ll note is that there is currently a 30% transfer bonus from Citi ThankYou to Virgin Flying Club that ends May 17th.
Chase also had a limited two week only 30% transfer bonus to Virgin the first half of February.
Across all programs, there were 9 transfer bonuses to Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club in 2024.
Bonuses are often 30% or even 40%, so I would not jump on a 25% bonus unless you are both flush with Ultimate Rewards and have a flight ready to book.
Keep in mind there are now massive surcharges on international Delta flights booked via Virgin to/from the US, killing off one of Virgin’s very best sweet spots (50k to/from Europe). So really, run a search before you transfer!
Best Uses of Virgin Flying Club points:
Two great uses are domestically on Delta within the US or US-Mexico/Canada and for economy flights to/from Europe that are as few as 12,000 miles each way on partners such as KLM or Delta. Delta One awards not to/from the US should still be a deal. Delta One to/from Europe is still 50,000 points but now with surcharges of around $1,000, so that “sweet spot” is dead.
The other, well known, “best use” is to book ANA First and Business class awards:
- First Class to/from Japan from West Coast: 145,000 points Round Trip
- First Class to/from Japan from East Coast: 170,000 points Round Trip
- Business Class to/from Japan from West Coast: 105,000 points Round Trip
- Business Class to/from Japan from East Coast: 120,000 points Round Trip
Get 25% Bonus Flying Blue Miles when you transfer Ultimate Rewards® points between 12:00 AM ET on May 1, 2025 and 11:59 PM ET on May 31, 2025. Bonus Miles will be awarded by Flying Blue in your Flying Blue account after your transfer is complete.
The first thing to know is that Air France Flying Blue transfer bonuses are frequent.
Here is a list of historical transfer bonuses from Chase to Air France Flying Blue and here is a list of historical transfer bonuses to Air France Flying Blue from all programs
The last one from Chase was 20% at the start of this year and one from Chase last April for 25%.
Across all programs, we had 5 transfer bonuses to Flying Blue ranging from 20% – 25%.
Note that the minimum rates for some Flying Blue awards have recently increased:
Flying Blue rates are variable, so run a search before transferring. When you get lucky, business class from the US to Europe can run as low as 60,000 Flying Blue miles (up from 50,000 previously). But that would be just 48,000 credit card points during this promotion!
Flying Blue is often the best way to book Virgin Atlantic Upper Class from the US to Europe and beyond, due to the lowest taxes of any way to book Virgin Atlantic, however with Virgin’s new dynamic pricing you really have to compare the pricing on both programs as it can now be cheaper with Virgin in some cases. Flying Blue can also book Delta, KLM, and other SkyTeam members when Saver award space is available.

The Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Preferred, and Ink Preferred all have the ability to transfer to airline and hotel partners. We use an average value that you can expect to get by utilizing your points for these transfer partners. If you do not have at least one of these cards, Ultimate Rewards are worth exactly 1 cent per point. Also keep in mind that when you redeem your points, you can elect to book travel through the Ultimate Rewards portal where the Sapphire Preferred and Ink Preferred have a point value of 1.25 cents per point and the Sapphire Reserve has points worth 1.5 cents each. You can move points freely between your Ultimate Rewards cards, i.e. from a Chase Freedom Unlimited to a Chase Sapphire Reserve. You can also read our Guide to Chase Ultimate Rewards points.

Pros

- One of the best cards to earn points on airfare: 5 points per dollar on airfare purchased directly with airlines or through the Amex Travel portal (on up to $500,000 of airfare purchases per calendar year).
Cons
- High annual fee that will require a bit of work to fully maximize.

- Charge card allows for high spending limits to fit your business needs
- 2.5% Cash Back on purchases over $5,000 is a stellar rebate on spend
- Earns Cash Back rather than transferable points.
Pros
- There is no other charge card on the market that offers 2.5% on charges over $5,000 with no monthly or annual limit.
- A flexible spending limit makes it a great choice for heavy spenders; rare on a small business card.
- Primary car rental Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) can be a huge benefit when on the road. This means your personal insurance won't have to get involved for damage to your rental car. (Note that it does not provide liability insurance or coverage for any other car you may be in a collision with.)
Cons
- The Chase Ultimate Rewards points earned with the Ink Business Premier are pure cash back with no option to transfer the points to other Chase small business credit cards (Ink) or Chase Sapphire cards or to airline and hotel transfer partners. This differs from all other Chase Ink credit cards.
- Relatively high annual fee.
- Lack of travel benefits like a Global Entry application fee credit, though you likely have that on another credit card.
When a card earns cash back, it has a value in our calculator of $0.01, just as you'd expect! 😉

Cons
- Aeroplan points aren't as flexible as transferrable currencies such as Chase Ultimate Rewards
- $95 annual fee
- Hefty spend requirement to retain or upgrade your Aeroplan elite status level
Aeroplan does not pass along any fuel surcharges, making this a great program for Star Alliance flights. Two huge additional benefits are a stopover on your trip for just 5,000 miles and a lap infant (under 2) is just $25 CAD. One small negative is that they do have fees for cancelling an award ticket.

Delta uses a fully dynamic pricing model on most awards, with the program aiming to offer you about 1.1 to 1.2 cents per point. However, you can still occasionally get much more value, especially during SkyMiles Flash Sales. Note that while you can book SkyTeam alliance flights with Delta SkyMiles, you cannot book international First Class on any SkyMiles partner.

- Points earned are only good for booking Hilton family stays
- High annual fee (but not really, considering the value)
- We really can't think of a third!
Since Hilton moved to a variable pricing model, on average you'll be offered roughly a 0.5 cent value per point for average hotels. However, what is nice is that although the pricing is mostly variable, they still cap the "standard" redemption rate on all properties. With the 5th night free on all award stays and resort fees waived on award stays, it's very possible to well exceed this value - even getting 1-2 cents per point - when used wisely. With the addition of SLH as fully integrated into the Hilton fold, we have raised the overall expected average redemption value to 0.6 cents.
