You should be aware that for pure spend on travel, including Southwest flights, you would do better spending on a Chase Sapphire Reserve (which earns Earn 5x total points on air travel and 10x total points on hotels and car rentals when you purchase travel through Chase Ultimate Rewards® immediately after the first $300 is spent on travel purchases annually, then earn 3x points on other travel and dining & 1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases) or, for Business, a Chase Ink Preferred (3 points per $1 on the first $150,000 spent on travel) which can be transferred to Southwest 1:1 or used on a range of other transfer partners.

Southwest Performance Business Credit Card Application Rules

You can apply for this card even if you already have the Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Business Credit Card.

Points earned from this bonus DO count towards Companion Pass.

It's definitely a sound strategy to pick this card up in order to earn a Companion Pass (you only need the difference between the bonus offer and 125,000 points) with Southwest, which would be valid for the remainder of this year and all of next year!

Note: You will only be approved for a Chase card if you have applied for fewer than 5 personal credit cards within the last 24 months from any issuer. (Business cards do not count against the total, except for Capital One and Discover, but are subject to the policy). Learn more about the 5/24 rule here.
